Getting Started

Hi friends.

I am thinking it is about time I tell you about how this website came about.  When taking care of my parents came to an abrupt end with the death of my father, I was looking for something to fill the void in my life.  That’s when I stumbled across a site promoting affiliate marketing through a teaching site called Wealthy Affiliate.  They were offering seven days of free training and two free websites.

Well, I’m not one to rush into things, but learning how to build a website, and make a living online interested me.  So I did what I always do when I want to know about something.  I researched online.

Is Wealthy affiliate a scam?  I was hesitant because of all the internet scams that take advantage of well meaning people seeking to make a living online.  I found numerous reviews from people who had taken advantage of the free lessons and free starter membership and later went premium with Wealthy Affiliates.  These were people like me, but some had been scammed by other less scrupulous internet companies.  These companies draw people in with the promise of quick and easy income.  Then they sell you their system, that you have to pay for up front.  By the time you realize that it doesn’t work, they are laughing all the way to the bank, where they are depositing money that used to be yours.

But these reviews by people who had taken advantage of the free lessons, and later decided to join, were positive!  They had nothing but praise for Wealthy Affiliate.  I learned that there was a community of like minded people who were always ready to help each other and share their knowledge with one another.  The reviews praised Wealthy Affiliate’s teaching program as the best.  After satisfying myself that they were legit, I figured I had nothing to lose by joining.  The membership was free.  The seven days of lessons were free.  The two websites were free.  All free!

So I joined, started the free lessons, and by the fourth day I had built my own website.  I was so excited!  I realized that there was no quick and easy way to build an internet business.  It would take time, dedication and work.  But at Wealthy Affiliate I had all the tools I needed to start constructing a business of my own.  I realized that I wouldn’t be alone on my journey.  Before my seven days of training was up, I decided to upgrade to a Premium membership.  The first month was very affordable at $19.  I figured a month would give me enough time to see if this was what I really wanted.  I’ve found a community of people, who are always ready to help.  I am learning new skills, and using my creative nature blogging on the WA site and writing content for my website.

That’s why I just have to share with you.  It hasn’t been easy, but it’s been very rewarding.  I am using more of my creative self than I have in years.  I know that it will take time to build my business to the point of generating an income, but I know it’s possible, because of all the success stories of people just like me earning incomes beyond my wildest dreams.  I’m enjoying the process of building my dream.  Would you like to join me?
